my no. 1 turquoise

I knew I couldn't resist it for long. Last week I pulled the bench from my back patio out into the yard at 6 a.m. and spray painted it turquoise. It made me ridiculously happy. Then I couldn't help but rearrange some furniture and hauled the bench, along with a table and some chairs out by my pool (anyone else need to sign up for project addicts anonymous with me?). I got my son Alex to help me and as we were moving things from here to there, my daughter Emily stuck her head out the door and asked, "What are you doing?!" Alex quickly replied, "Emily, don't you know this is what mom does for fun?"

So, now I have my happy bit of turquoise and a fantastic little cozy nook for late evening, summer dining. I think its time to plan a dinner party...

  1. How adorable! I love the impulsive summer color choice!

My now-husband and I bought a can of fabulous paint called "fresh-cut grass" a few years ago and stayed up all night painting all manner of walls and furniture with it...fast forward three years and we're married with a lemony-green butler's table smack in the middle of our living room. And I *still* love it.

  9. Love Love Love it!! And sign me up for "project addicts anonymous". My hubby hates when I say "Honey, I was thinking...." It ususally involves some kind of work for him. We built a fireplace in our backyard last winter (see above statement), and I just said to him Sunday "won't it be fun in the fall to move the dining table and the seating areas around so we can have dinner in front of the fire"...okay Did you see the eye roll too!?
