red, white and... turquoise?

This year for the 4th of July, I couldn't help but pull in a little of my own favorite shade of blue to our red, white and blue celebration. The jokes from my kids about this little obsession of mine have already begun... oh, well. I am sure deep down they are loving the splashes of turquoise here and there as much as I am... right? We had a nice little 4th of July at the beach this year with some family, some delicious food and, of course, fireworks. A little more on that tomorrow. For now, enjoy a bit of the house before the troops hit...

I found this vintage flag at the flea market and thought it made a very nice table runner. What do you think?

Hope you all had a lovely 4th and enjoyed our guest blogging from the beautiful and talented Jen last week! Have a good Monday!

  4. Hi Bev,

Your 4th July celebrations sounded like it all went off well. Love seeing anything of your shop and your gorgeous home. I just wish I wasn't half a world away! I call in everyday in the hope of seeing gorgeous eyecandy and when you feature anything on your home or shop I study the pictures and try to soak everything up!!! Love the lampshades on the lamps on your mantlepiece, so unusual and love the flag as a table runner, it looks stunning...I enjoyed the postings last week of Jen's wedding. So thanks all for sharing. Better go as I have a very busy day ahead. Will call in again soon. What the heck tomorrow!!!! hahaha
    Take care

  7. I LOVE tuquoise! And I have used it with Red in my home before. I have been looking at your blog for some time, and I love your home/store/style. So I see you have the same French Bistro shelve I have: the glass, chrome and black granite bottom shelve. I bought it a an antique store (I know it's not antique) and have been trying to find out where it came from. I have now seen it in two other homes since. I would appreciate if you know could you please email me tara.atkins@aptuit.com.
(too cool, I have the same lamp by your family picture too). Take care.
