What's in a Name

I googled The Willows yesterday for fun and came across all these funny little things. Like this vintage ad from a man who runs a Victorian-sort of magazine called "The Willows".

Here we are making albums! Who knew we were so multi-talented!

I also found some "Willows" places around the country where people reside (after all, who wouldn't want to live at The Willows?)

Lastly, here is a second option for our parking - especially if we were to open a lounge up inside! What do you think?
Truly, I think no one does it better than us.

Flea Market Fabulous!

The first day of the flea market was a huge hit! Thank you to everyone who showed up! We had so much fun! We expect tomorrow to be even bigger, and don't worry - we still have plenty of great items for sale - and new ones are coming in!
For parking tomorrow, please do not block our alley as this is the only way for customers to exit our lot - we don't want to have to come find you! Please make use of the neighboring lots!
We are excited for silhouettes tomorrow - we hope you bring the kids to get their pictures taken from 10am-noon! Just look at all the amazing artwork you can create with silhouettes (courtesy of http://www.apartmenttherapy.com/).

New Furniture Line!

Come see our new living room in the back room where sale items used to be! It is a-changing! We have cleared out the old, and brought in a "Domino-esque" line of slipcovered furniture that is so affordable! Come check out what is available for order!

Bev is hand-tying burlap with twine for our instant curtain to hide her office space! If you want the real deal (for burlap curtains), let us know, we can have them made for you! Burlap is so beautiful on windows!

This photo is still in the messy phase but can you see the sofa and two chairs? The slipcovers are a modern twist on the classic style we're known for, and we love it!

Ooh la la!!

FEED

Kim was at her daughter's orthodontist appointment when she ran into one of our clients with an amazing burlap tote bag. Our client explained that part of the proceeds went to "Feed the children of the world", and the bag was designed by Lauren Bush! We did a little more research this morning, and are excited to tell you that soon The Willows will be carrying these bags as well!

Here is a little background taken from the "FEED" website, which explains the groups mission for the bags.
"FEED Projects was started in 2006 when acclaimed model and activist Lauren Bush designed a bag to benefit the United Nations World Food Program's (WFP) School Feeding operations. Lauren, a WFP Honorary Spokesperson who has visited eight WFP food aid operations around the world, was inspired by the plight of the people she met on her travels. She took a special interest in WFP's School Feeding program, which feeds and educates hungry children.
Inspired by the aesthetic of the bags of food distributed by WFP, she created the FEED 1 bag, a reversible burlap and cotton bag stamped with "FEED the children of the world" and the number "1" to signify that each bag feeds one child in school for one year."

To read more on this bag and the "FEED" team (they even have their own blog!) go to http://www.feedprojects.org/.

Call us if you would like to reserve one of these bags now! Supplies are limited! We ordered only two of the "FEED 2" bags as well if you'd like to reserve one early!
