So, I couldn't help myself... hubby and I snuck off to the beach for one last taste of summer this Labor Day weekend.  It was positively wonderful.  We enjoyed our last bit of summer just relaxing at the beach, watching the surfers at the Wedge.  We had wine and drinks in the beautiful night air.  And, of course, no weekend in California is complete without a trip to the flea market.  It was a great little escape.  Now we are back, refreshed and ready to go.  Hope your weekend was wonderful, as well!

I fell in love with these the moment I saw them, and then they were sold right out from under me!  Oh, well.  Such is the way of the flea market!

Well, needless to say, it's been a busy summer.  Two new grandbabies, family vacations, buying trips and, of course, just life in general.  Now with school starting up again and lots of exciting work with our new design team (more to come on that), our poor little blog has taken quite a hit.  I am going to take the week to get it all in order and start back after labor day with more regular posting.  Hope you'll stick around!  We have lots of fun stuff to share...

wrapping up my summer adventures

Before I came home (I'm back!), I headed out to New Orleans for the wedding of some very close friends' son.  I helped with the flowers, ate (amazing food!), drank, danced and had a wonderful time!  It was a good last adventure for the summer, but it's good to be home.  Needless to say, I am quite exhausted.  

We even gave it a whirl making flower crowns for the little girls and they turned out absolutely adorable (unfortunately, the only picture I got was blurry, but you get the idea)...

It was a wonderful weekend!  Thank you to everyone!

huntington beach

We stopped by Huntington Beach the other day and there was lots of excitement going on.  I actually had no idea there was a US Open of Surfing.  Very thrilling.  Enjoying my last few days of summer at the beach.  All too soon we will be back in the swing of things with work and school and our very hot hometown.

I found these great watches at cash and carry at market and couldn't help but pick up a whole bag of them.  I think little and big girls alike would love them!  We are planning a sweet sixteen party for a friend and are planning on using these as party favors.  Look for pictures of the party to come!
