a little something i have been dreaming about...

For quite some time now I have been dreaming of opening a little garden shop or garden section attached to the Willows.  I spend my drives to California imagining just how it will look, what I will sell, the beauty and whimsy of it all.  Well, with the help of my lovely employee and "master gardener" Krista, this dream will soon be a reality.  We have started construction on the front west side of our building and we hope to have the loveliest of little garden shops open to all in the next few months.  I will keep you posted as it comes along, but I just thought I would share this exciting news and some of the pictures I have been drooling over as I wait for it all to become a reality!  So, what would you want in your local garden shop?  What would draw you in?  Please share!

Would love to see ivy topiaries, orchids, small fountains, and beautiful flower pots. Some really good "how to" gardening books would be great too.

French style pots, crates, vignettes.
Worn and old style garden draws my attention. Even worn wood handled garden tools.

I also would love to see ivy topiaries, as well as chippy white or rusted iron garden urns; baskets, blue and white porcelain flower pots; unusual or repurposed items as flower pots (like vintage pitchers or old silverplate).

Oh congrats...what a beautiful addition to a beautiful shop...wish I lived closer. My favorite nursery has "classes"...i have a fairy garden in a lovely basket and a succulent wreath... both still thriving...I can't wait to see what class I will take there this spring.....perhaps you could do something similar? Best wishes for your new venture....

I love something like the bike out front with a basket in the front full of flowers. Topiaries are always fun and LOTS of color too. People like to feel cheery and bright colors do that:)
Good luck..it sounds like this will be tons of fun:)
