ah, the weekend

Hope you have a wonderful weekend planned!  I am off to California to relax, shop and hang with friends.  Speaking of friends, check out the above picture of the gorgeous shower my friend Laurie just hosted for her daughter!  I absolutely love it!  If you are looking for something fun to do this weekend, get a head start on some Halloween fun and hit up the Parade of Souls on Saturday from 10 to 4.  There will be 13 talented Arizona Artists selling their best Halloween and Fall themed art.  Our favorite, Lynne Bonnell will be there along with some amazing others!  Wish I wasn't out of town, or I would be there for sure!  For more info, check out www.paradeofsouls.blogspot.com.
Have a great weekend!

setting the stage

I was recently asked to stage a loft in downtown Phoenix for resale.  There is nothing more exciting than being given a clean slate and told you can do whatever you want with the space.  There are some built-in pieces in the loft, but lots of general open space for interpreting where you want to put your furniture.  I asked my daughter Christine to assist me in the design and decoration.  We had so much fun, we were practically ready to move in ourselves!  Check in tomorrow to see how it all turned out...

apple picking in chicago

Last week we flew out to Chicago to spend some time with my son and his family out there.  It is so beautiful this time of year with the leaves changing colors and the crispness in the air.  One afternoon we decided to go apple picking and it was just about the dreamiest day you could imagine.  Oh, Fall, you should come to Phoenix sometime...

an 80th birthday

This weekend was my father-in-law's 80th birthday and we celebrated with a big bash at my sister-in-law's house.  Everything was decorated so perfectly.  My favorite were the big photos she had printed and displayed in old window frames...

She also, just so happens to have an amazing brick pizza oven on her back patio!

So pizzas were being made throughout the evening and different family members brought salads, so we all ate til our bellies were stuffed.  The kids ran around the yard with cousins, there was an ongoing slideshow of old family pictures and, of course, we all gathered around to sing happy birthday to the man who made this huge family possible.  It was a wonderful celebration.

My sister-in-law also had this awesome table made from old pallets...

And this cute little bench made from a leftover support beam...

Such a cute house and such a great party!

october already?

We had so much fun last week helping a client set out all her Halloween decorations.  I really cannot believe it is October already, though.  Now I just have to get out my own decorations...  Stop by the shop to see all the fun things we have this holiday season!  You could always use a couple more of Lynne's pumpkins!
