Chestnut Lane

You know those places and things that you love so much that you don't even have to use the full name and people already know what you are talking about? Like S-bucks? A new Louis? Well, Chestnut (Chestnut Lane) has just joined that category as the most talked about restaurant/bakery in Arcadia. The owner, Polly, is truly a genius in the kitchen, and the kindest person you will ever meet! It is truly amazing to us that food can be that addictive - we literally wake up craving their scones every morning, and their oatmeal is talked about at least once a day at The Willows. Whenever we can, we Willowettes grab a lunch of lobster cobb salad and prosciutto and brie sandwich on an MJ baguette - this lunch will make you feel like you are in Paris. In fact, you may find yourself buying a plane ticket after you eat it.

For those of you who have not had the pleasure of visiting Vanilla Chair inside The Willows yet, you may not have seen our darling children's apparel collection called Squints. Created by Christine and Emily (Bev's daughter and daughter-in-law), this collection boasts one-of-a-kind dresses, skirts and headscarfs for infants, toddlers and young children. All materials are recycled from vintage fabrics including men's shirts! They are truly too cute for words - take a look for yourself on the new

Squints will be a part of our First Friday Flea Market this Friday, December 4 from 10am-2pm - our biggest Flea Market yet! We have lots of new vendors joining us this Friday selling everything from handbags to hand-me-downs!

After Thanksgiving...

Whew...is Thanksgiving over already? Thank you to all of our wonderful friends who have supported us so much already this holiday season - it is so great seeing all of your smiling faces in the store! We hope The Willows has brightened all your homes! Because everything has been selling so quickly this year, we have been having so much fun bringing in new and exciting pieces for all of you! Like these great organization bins below for toys, laundry, etc! Great for a long weekend after guests have been in town and children have been amped up on holiday treats! The Week Before...

The week before Thanksgiving can be a hectic time. The anticipation of family members coming together, while enjoyable, can also be - let's face it - stressful! The sheets need washing, new serving pieces are in order - and what will you wear to look fabulous while serving your turkey? Luckily, The Willows is your one-stop shop for all your holiday necessities from toys to keep the kids busy to glasses to toast with when another successful Thanksgiving has commenced. Cheers.

New Skirt!

Indian School Block Party

This past Sunday marked the 2nd annual Indian School Block Party from 32nd to 38th st - and, wow, what a turnout! It was estimated that 25,000 people showed up this year for the event! The Willows was outside with a kid's craft table and lots of paper hats! See what a couple of our future artists made for themselves!

We were also selling great new items from Vanilla Chair - our kid's boutique inside The Willows!

Our hand-made collection "Squints" did very well at the event. This collection of children's skirts and dresses are made from vintage men's shirts and other vintage fabrics. These are always available at the store!

Emily was also selling her pesto - call us for orders! Yummy!

Wednesday Madness

Block Party!

The 2nd Annual Indian School Block Party is tomorrow

and fun is sure to be had by all!

Ghost Oreos:

Cover Double-stuffed Oreos in melted white chocolate

Let chill in fridge until hard to touch

Apply black decorative frosting for ghost eyes and mouth

Try not to make the ghosts disappear all at once
