new york notions and a giveaway!

Our last day in New York we hit up some of the amazing notions shops suggested in Sibella Court's The Stylists Guide to NYC (love, love, love this book!).  For anyone who loves textiles the way Krista and I do, your heart would literally jump out at the site of these shops.  We walked in and were immediately giddy.  Where to begin shopping?  What projects can we start planning?  The most impressive thing to me was how perfectly organized they were.  I have been in stores that sell similar notions, but they are usually a cluttered mess.  These were the perfect picture of organization.  I jokingly asked the clerk at one such store if anyone had ever dropped one of the boxes of trinkets...  she was not amused.  Unfortunately, not one of the shops offers any sort of online sales.  I am now on a mission to find just such a store in L.A. (even better if there was one in Phoenix, but I think I might have better luck in L.A.).  Any suggestions?  Have you ever been in a store like this?

Well, it was certainly a great trip and we are so excited about all the new treasures we will be getting at the Willows!  To share a bit of our New York fun with one of you, we picked out a few lovely souvenirs just for you!  A t-shirt from Mario Batali's amazing new restaurant, Eataly (the back of the shirt is pictured), a pretty cook book we picked up full of delicious seasonal recipes (this book is coming soon to the Willows!), and some amazing coffee from the equally amazing restaurant Le Pain Quotidien.  If you are ever in New York, please eat here.  I loved the decor with their long, long tables and great atmosphere and the food was, of course, delicious.

All you need to do to enter our little New York souvenir giveaway is enter a comment on this post and we will announce our winner next week!
Good Luck!

It is so fun living vicariously through your blog. And the creative juices you girls have amazes me. When I grow up I want to be just like you.....only problem, I'm sure I'm old enough to be your mother.
God Bless,
Helon
